WCHA Fan of the Week, Presented by UNRL

From Alaska to Alabama and all points in-between, the WCHA and our member institutions have college hockey's best and most passionate fans. Following each week of league competition this season, we are proud and honored to recognize the WCHA Fan of the Week, Presented by UNRL!

Let's catch up with our latest honoree:

Curtis Kliewer, who, along with his wife Liz (a current doctoral student at Minnesota State University, Mankato), have been season ticket holders to Mavericks hockey for 12 years!

I love Mavericks hockey because:
Coach Mike Hastings has made the Mavericks so exciting to watch! But I would even go if we lost every game.

My favorite hockey memory is:
When we sweep the (University of Minnesota) Gophers, as we have a good friend who is a Gopher alumna and a couple of us would decorate her office the week of the game with Mavericks stuff.

What I'm most looking forward to about the rest of the 2018-19 season is:
Winning the MacNaughton Cup and winning our first (NCAA) playoff game!

Describe WCHA hockey in one word or phrase:
INTENSE!
