photoUniversity of Nebraska Omaha forward Zahn Raubenheimer, who scored four goals and had both game-winners as the visiting Mavericks swept a two-game conference road series at Michigan Tech last weekend, is the Red Baron® WCHA Offensive Player of the Week for Nov. 6.

A 5-10, 176-pound junior from Smoky Lake, Alberta, Raubenheimer posted the finest weekend of his collegiate career to date, scoring four goals, firing 12 shots on goal and earning a +4 plus/minus rating in the two victories. Last Friday (Nov. 2), he scored both UNO goals, including the shorthanded game-winner with 1:10 to play, in a 2-1 win. It was the first multiple-goal game of his career and his first career shorthanded goal. The following night (Saturday, Nov. 3), Raubenheimer had two more goals and again notched the game-winner in a 5-3 win to complete the sweep.

For the 2012-13 season, Raubenheimer leads the Mavericks in scoring with five goals and three assists for eight points. He has already doubled his career goal total in just eight games.

Defensive Player of the Week

Zach Palmquist - Sophomore, Defenseman

photoUMinnesota State University defenseman Zach Palmquist, who contributed at both ends of the ice as the Mavericks enjoyed a successful weekend against defending WCHA champion and No. 2-ranked Minnesota last weekend, is the Red Baron® WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for Nov. 6.

A 5-11, 175-pound sophomore from South St. Paul, Minn., Palmquist helped Minnesota State limit the Gophers to just two even-strength goals in a 3-2 loss in Minneapolis last Friday (Nov. 2) and a 5-3 victory in Mankato last Saturday (Nov. 3) while also contributing a goal and one assist in the two games. He scored the first goal of the game and had two shots on goal in Friday's one-goal loss then registered an assist on Zach Lehrke's power-play goal last Saturday as MSU downed the visiting Gophers. In addition to his two points and strong defensive play, Palmquist also contributed three shots on goal in the series.

Through the first eight games of the 2012-13 season, Palmquist leads the Minnesota State defensive corps with five points (1g, 4a) and a +3 rating.

Rookie of the Week

Dylan Margonari - Freshman, Forward
Minnesota State University

photoForward Dylan Margonari, who scored his first collegiate game-winning goal to propel host Minnesota State University to a 5-3 league triumph over No. 2-ranked Minnesota last Saturday, has been named the Red Baron® WCHA Rookie of the Week for Nov. 6.

A 6-1, 190-pound left winger from Greensburg, Pa., Margonari was named the First Star of the Game for his efforts on Nov. 3, as the Mavericks followed up a strong effort in a 3-2 setback to the host Gophers last Friday with a victory over the defending WCHA champions in front of their home crowd last Saturday in Mankato. His first career game-winning goal came at 16:19 of the third period in boosting Minnesota State to the 5-3 win. The shot was his only shot on goal in the game. Margonari also had two shots on goal in Friday's loss in Minneapolis the previous night.

In his debut season with the Mavericks, Margonari has two goals and 11 shots on goal in six games played.
