Minnesota State captured the MacNaughton Cup as the WCHA's regular season champion

EDINA, Minn. March 7, 2015 The pairings have been set for the first round of the men's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) playoffs, to be held at the home sites of seeds 1-4 the weekend of March 13-15. All four series are a best-of-three format, with the winners advancing to the 2015 WCHA Final Five on March 20 and 21 at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn.

The winner of the WCHA Final Five receives the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Minnesota State captured the first MacNaughton Cup in school history as the WCHA's regular season champion. Michigan Tech earned the second seed, while Bowling Green and Bemidji State also have home ice as the third and fourth seeds, respectively. Ferris State is the fifth seed and Northern Michigan is sixth, while Alabama Huntsville and Lake Superior State making their first appearances in the WCHA playoffs are the seventh and eighth seeds, respectively.
