EDINA, Minn. – Nov. 9, 2015 – A career milestone, the NCAA's top offensive effort from a blue-liner and an impressive showing by a highly-touted freshman highlight the men's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Players of the Week for Nov. 2-8, 2015. The honorees are: Alaska senior forward Tyler Morley (Offensive Player of the Week), Minnesota State junior defenseman Casey Nelson (Defensive Player of the Week) and Ferris State freshman forward Corey Mackin (Rookie of the Week).
Tyler Morley, Sr., F
Alaska (Burnaby, British Columbia)
Needing two points this past weekend to reach the 100-point plateau for his career, Morley blew past that with a WCHA-high five points on three goals and two assists. With his parents in attendance, the senior from Burnaby, British Columbia reached the century mark with two first period goals Friday night, before tallying the primary assist on the game-winning score as Alaska defeated visiting Northern Michigan, 5-2. He also factored in both Nanooks goals in a Saturday loss (1g, 1a); for the week, Morley's three goals and five points tied for the NCAA lead among all players with just two games played. The 33rd player in Alaska program history to reach the 100-point mark, Morley ranks eighth among all active NCAA Division I players with 103 points in 107 collegiate games (0.96 points per game).

Saturday, his goal at the 11:00 mark of the second period brought MSU into a 2-2 tie in a contest the Mavericks would eventually win, 3-2. Nelson finished the weekend with a +2 rating.
