More about these Lakers fans…

Favorite Team:

Our favorite team is Lake Superior State, but we also cheer for Northern Michigan.

Are you, or any family, associated with Lake Superior State:

I did not attend Lake State. We spend summers up in the UP and really started following the Lakers in 2006. We owe much of that to Tim Christian (former assistant coach). We enjoy catching the Lakers on the road when possible and traveling to the Soo for a home series- we can be found with friends Ray and Brian. Being fans of Lake State has created many special bonds with other fans, players, families and staff.

We love Lakers hockey because:

We love it because of the people- players and staff. It's a small school, a Hockey town and the people at Lake State have made the Archer family feel part of the LSSU Hockey family. It has been a blessing to have friendships with players past and present that have spanned beyond the rink. They have seen our boys (Mac, Will and River) grow and have helped them see the game in a different way. Paul Prucha, Bill Crawford, Coach (Rich) Metro and Coach (Damon) Whitten have been nothing but kind and genuine to us.

Our favorite hockey memory is:

Our favorite memory was in 2012- our family traveled to the Soo for a home series. There was a "Skate with the Lakers" after the game and our oldest son, Mac, was loving being with the guys out there at age 3. Brett Wall and Daniel Vernace "interviewed" Mac about being part of the guys and cheering for the Lakers. Honestly, any time we are on campus or at a game, new memories are made! It's always fun to go see pro games of former Laker players too. I enjoy watching the guys interact with our boys! (I'm most thankful for former Laker, Brett Wall. He has become like family to us and it all started with Lake State.)

What we're most looking forward to about the rest of the 2017-18 season is:

Getting up to the Soo for a game! We're also looking forward to the Lakers having a strong second half of the season.
