WCHA Announces Two-Game Suspension For Alabama Huntsville's Brennan Saulnier
Senior forward will miss Chargers' next four NCAA Division I games overall

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Jan. 29, 2018 – The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Men's League office today announced a two-game suspension for Alabama Huntsville senior forward Brennan Saulnier, effective for the Chargers' games of Feb. 9 and 10 against Minnesota State.

The suspension is a result of Saulnier's five-minute major penalty and game misconduct infraction for checking from behind, which occurred at the 0:33 mark of the first period in Alabama Huntsville's game of Saturday, Jan. 27 vs. Bemidji State. Upon review, the hit was delivered in a manner that warranted the suspension.

Alabama Huntsville's next two scheduled games are Saturday, Feb. 3 and Sunday, Feb. 4 against Northern Michigan. Saulnier will miss those two contests due to NCAA rules, resulting from an accumulation of game misconduct penalties, along with an additional game disqualification penalty assessed at the 0:33 mark of the first period in Saturday's game. Therefore, the WCHA-issued supplemental discipline will be in effect for the weekend of Feb. 9 and 10. Saulnier would be eligible to return for the Chargers' Friday, Feb. 23 game against Bowling Green.
