FOX-UP To Televise WCHA Championship

Negaunee, Mich. – FOX-UP will televise the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Championship Game live on Saturday, March 17 from the campus of Northern Michigan University.

The WCHA Championship Game between the Northern Michigan Wildcats and the Michigan Tech Huskies will be broadcast live from the Berry Events Center.

The game marks the first time these two teams have played for a championship on UP soil. This year's WCHA Championship also marks the debut of the Jeff Sauer Championship Trophy. The winner of the game will also get the WCHA's automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Mark Evans and Dave Ellis will be the announce team and the FOX-UP broadcast will kick off with an hour pre-game show beginning at 6 p.m. EST followed by the WCHA Championship Game at 7 p.m.

"The demand for tickets was extraordinary," said Northern Michigan University Director of Athletics Forrest Karr. "There are so many talented hard-working student-athletes representing both institutions and we greatly appreciate Commissioner Robertson's willingness to allow fans from throughout the UP to watch and cheer on their efforts."
