LAKE SUPERIOR STATE DEFEATED BY WISCONSIN, 8-1

Junior defenseman Kevin Czuczman scored a goal for the Lakers

MADISON, Wis. - Lake Superior State University suffered its first loss of the season to Wisconsin Saturday. The Lakers lost 8-1, LSSU is 4-1-1 overall.

Junior forward Kevin Czuczman (3-2--5) tallied LSSU's lone goal at the 16-second mark of the second period, leaving LSSU down 2-1. Senior forward Dan Rakde (1-5--6) and freshman forward Alex Globke (2-6--8) assisted on Czuczman's goal.

The Lakers were unable to capitalize on the power-play going 0-for-3 while the Badgers were 1-for-5.

Wisconsin tallied two more goals in the second giving them a 4-1 lead heading into the third period. In the third, Wisconsin tallied four goals leaving LSSU down 8-1.

Senior netminder Kevin Murdock (3-1-0) made 36 save in the loss while Landon Peterson (2-2-1) stopped 21 shots on goal.
