ANCHORAGE - Two goals by senior captain Brett Cameron and junior Hayden Trupp led the Alaska Anchorage Seawolves to an 8-0 victory over the visiting Western Ontario Mustangs in an exhibition tilt at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex on Saturday night.

The Seawolves erupted for five goals in the second, one in the first and two in the third to improve to 9-2-0 in the last 11 exhibition games. The Mustangs, who lost to Alaska Fairbanks, 3-1, a night before are now 0-2 in exhibition play this season.

The scoring started when Trupp, an Anchorage native, gave the Seawolves a 1-0 lead at the end of the first frame when he deflected rookie Tanner Johnson's shot from the right point with 44 seconds remaining.

In the second period, Cameron got his first of the night when he took a slap shot from the right circle at 7:07 to beat the Mustangs' netminder Greg Dobbs, short-side glove. Sophomore Hudson Friesen and junior Blake Tatchell each assisted on the play.

Halfway through the game, Michael Matyas stepped in for newcomer Olivier Mantha, who made his collegiate debut between the pipes. Likewise, Marc Nother stepped in for Dodds on the opposite side of the rink, quickly allowing a UAA goal on the first shot he faced by sophomore Zack Rassell.

Rassell's strike at 10:27 was the first of four goals netted in a six minute span for the Seawolves. Also scoring for UAA in the second stanza were Cameron (13:36), freshman Austin Azurdia (16:00) and senior Scott Allen (16:12) to end the period on top, 6-0.

After the second intermission, freshman Anthony Conti added his first collegiate goal at 4:41, followed by Trupp's second of the night at 8:30.

The Seawolves head over to the Sullivan Arena when they host Alaska Fairbanks, Maine and Wisconsin for the annual Kendall Hockey Classic, Oct. 10-11. UAF takes on Wisconsin at 5:07 p.m. on Friday, followed by UAA and Maine at 8:07 p.m.
