ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - The Alaska Anchorage hockey team dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 14 Bowling Green on Senior Night Friday.

The two teams finished a combined 0-9 on the powerplay in a game that featured a combined 56 penalty minutes.

After a scoreless first period, the Falcons scored nine seconds into the second period with a goal by Connor Ford.

Alex Butcher tied the game with his seventh goal of the season in the final minute of the period. Butcher's shot was stopped initially by Eric Dop but the puck flew in the air, hit Dop in the back and tumbled into the goal. Tanner Johnson and David Trinkberger assisted on the goal.

Brandon Kruse sent a pass across the face of the goal to Tyler Spezia who buried the game-winner at 12:19 of the third period.

Olivier Mantha made 20 saves for the Seawolves, and Eric Dop finished with 16 for the Falcons.

BGSU led 22-17 in shots.

The seven seniors, Alec Butcher, Tanner Johnson, Jarrett Brown, Austin Azurdia, Tad Kozun, Matt Anholt and Olivier Mantha, on this year's team were honored prior to the game.

Alaska Anchorage will play its final series of the season at in-state rival Alaska Fairbanks Feb. 23-24.
