Alaska Anchorage Downed By Omaha, 4-0

OMAHA, NEB. - Nebraska Omaha scored three power-play goals in a 4-0 win over Alaska Anchorage Monday.

Tristian Keck scored the first goal of the day for the Mavericks, and the only even-strength goal at 10:46 of the first period. Nate Knoepke fired a low-shot on goal that was tipped by Keck past UAA goalie Kris Carlson.

Omaha added two more goals in the second period, both on the powerplay.

The Mavs second goal was much like its first as Mason Morelli tipped a shot by Dean Stewart through the five-hole at 14:09.

Teemu Pulkkinen's shot went wide of the UAA goal but a strong rebound off the boards put the puck right on the stick of Ryan Galt who scored at 18:36 to push the Maverick lead to 3-0.

Kristian Stead replaced Carlson, who finished with 31 saves, after the intermission.

Taylor Ward and Fredrik Olofsson used crisp passing to set-up Mason Morelli for his second goal of the game at 13:06 of the third period.

Stead finished with 14 saves for UAA.

UNO led 49-20 in shots and finished 3-for-6 on the powerplay. UAA was scoreless on its two powerplay opportunities.

Alaska Anchorage will host Lake Superior State Jan. 4-5.
