In two weeks, the five survivors of the first playoff roundwill descend on Xcel Energy Center for the fabled WCHA Final Five, which, in this case, could be the "Final Final Five," because the format will likely change with the league expansion to 12 teams next season.
For many students, math can be a daunting challenge, but for sophomore St. Cloud State forward Drew LeBlanc the subject of math is an academic treat for him. "Last semester I took a calculus class - that was my favorite class I've taken so far," LeBlanc said. "I really like the theories. And then finding a way to solve problems is really intriguing to me." LeBlanc's love of math was certainly influenced by his father, who was a math teacher. Drew is now a math education major. "I wanted to major in something I really enjoy," LeBlanc said. "It is my strongest subject and I've always enjoyed working with kids. I figured I could continue both of those." On the ice, no matter how LeBlanc crunches the numbers, one thing is simple: He's having a good season.
