COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Denver garnered all 34 first-place votes after clinching the 2004 NCAA Division I Championsihp on Staurday, making the Pioneers the No. 1 team in the final USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll for the first time since November 4, 2002.

Denver defeated the University of Maine, 1-0, in the national title game, making history by becoming the first team to win the NCAA championship by that score.
