COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Two-time hockey All-American Brett Sterling, who graduated from Colorado College on May 22 after an illustrious four-year career with the Tigers, has earned first-team regional All-Academic recognition and is eligible for Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive year.

He is one of only 11 student athletes voted to the Academic All-District VII University Division squad for at-large sports by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). The district includes schools from eight states and two Canadian provinces.

Sterling finished the 2005-06 season with a team-leading 31 goals and 55 points, recording three hat tricks and factoring in on 14 game-winning goals. His 17 power-play tallies tied him for the national lead. A two-time top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award and 2003 draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers, he is one of only five Colorado College players in history to strike for 100 or more goals. The left winger completed his career tied for 10th on the program's all-time scoring list with 184 points (108g,76a). He received his bachelor's degree in economics.
