COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. ­ Brett Sterling, who graduated from Colorado College on May 22 after a brilliant hockey career with the Tigers, has earned Academic All-America honors for the second consecutive year.

Sterling was voted to ESPN The Magazine's national second team in the university division for at-large sports by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The two-time All-American and top-10 finalist for the Hobey Baker Memorial Award finished the 2005-06 season with a team-leading 31 goals and 55 points, recording three hat tricks and factoring in on 14 game-winning goals. His 17 power-play tallies tied him for the national lead.

A 2003 National Hockey League draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers, he is one of only five CC players in history to strike for 100 or more goals. The standout left winger completed his career tied for 10th on the program's all-time scoring list with 184 points (108g,76a).

He received his bachelor's degree in economics.
