ANCHORAGE - The University of Alaska Anchorage athletic department Monday announced the complete 2006-07 Seawolf hockey schedule, including pairings for the 16th edition of the Nye Frontier Classic hockey tournament, Oct. 13-14 at Sullivan Arena.

The opening game of the two-day tournament matches Colorado College of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association against Nebraska-Omaha of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association at 5:07 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13. In that night's late game, host UAA will take on Hockey East member Merrimack at 8:07 p.m.

This year again features a fixed format, meaning Saturday's games will be CC vs. Merrimack at 4:07 p.m., followed by UAA vs. UNO at 7:07 p.m. The champion will be determined by win-loss record and a tie-breaking formula if necessary.

The Nye Frontier Classic kicks off the regular season for UAA, which will also play a pair of exhibition games - Saturday, Sept. 30 vs. the U.S. Under-18 National Team, 7:07 p.m., Sullivan Arena; and Saturday, Oct. 7 vs. Western Ontario at the Soldotna Sports Center.

The Seawolves travel to Fairbanks for the first round of the Alaska Airlines Governor's Cup, Oct. 20 and 21, before hosting the Nanooks on Dec. 29 and 30 in Anchorage. UAA's 28-game Western Collegiate Hockey Association slate starts Oct. 27-28 at Michigan Tech, and the Seawolves make their home league debut the following week (Nov. 3-4) against defending national champion Wisconsin.
