Mankato, Minn. - Minnesota State forward Jon Kalinski was selected in the sixth round, 152nd overall, by Philadelphia in the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft today.

Including 8-7-15 in his last 14 games of the season, Kalinski totaled 17-10-27 in 37 games in 2006-07 to rank fourth on MSU's scoring charts. His 17 goals tied with Travis Morin for the team lead and he tied for second in the nation and led the Mavericks with four shorthanded goals (this also tied the school single-season record). He ranked second on the team in plus/minus with a +4 and his four power play markers were fourth on the team. The Lacorey, Alta., native had two overtime game-winning goals during the course of the season (3-2 over Notre Dame Oct. 14 and 3-2 over Nebraska-Omaha Jan. 16).

Kalinski heads into his junior season with the Mavericks having totaled 21-17-38 in 67 career games.
