SAINT PAUL, Minn. - In a press conference held March 21st at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, officials of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and Xcel Energy Center, along with representatives of Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU) and the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD), jointly announced plans for the inaugural WCHA Minnesota College Hockey Showcase. The event is slated for Saturday, Nov. 1 at Xcel Energy Center, and will feature all four WCHA men's member hockey teams from Minnesota - the "State of Hockey."

Tickets for the WCHA Minnesota College Hockey Showcase will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29 at the Xcel Energy Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, charge by phone at (651) 989-5151 or online at www.ticketmaster.com . Groups (10+) please call 651-312-3486. Tickets will be sold as a two-game package and range in price from $32 - $42.

The teams will compete in a doubleheader format, with the University of Minnesota Duluth hosting St. Cloud State University in a 4 p.m. CT match-up, followed by Minnesota State University designated as the home team versus the University of Minnesota in a 7:30 p.m. CT face-off. The games will count as part of the regular WCHA season.

Fox Sports Net (FSN) North will televise the MSU-Minnesota match-up. Frank Mazzocco will handle play-by-play duties with Doug Woog as color analyst.

The Saturday pairings will close off a weekend-long series that will see all four teams in action the preceding night, with UMD hosting St. Cloud State in Duluth and MSU and Minnesota tangling at Mariucci Arena on Friday, Oct. 31.
