MADISON, Wisc. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association continues to factor big in the weekly men's college hockey polls, with four teams ranked among the nation's top 10 for the week of November 27-December 2, 2000. The University of North Dakota, defending NCAA Div. champions, has moved up to the No. 2 ranking in both the latest USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Men's College Hockey Poll and the USCHO.com Division 1 Men's Poll. The Fighting Sioux, 10-2-4 overall, are in the midst of a nine-game (8-0-1) unbeaten streak.

Ranked seventh in this week's polls is the University of Minnesota (9-3-2), followed in ninth and tenth by Colorado College (8-3-1) and St. Cloud State University (8-3-1). The Tigers are ninth in the USCHO.com poll and 10th in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll while the Huskies are ninth in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll and 10th in the USCHO.com poll.

Two other WCHA teams - University of Wisconsin (8-8-0) and University of Alaska Anchorage (5- 4-1) - also received votes.

The WCHA is home to 31 national championship teams since the league's founding in 1951, including the 2000 NCAA Frozen Four crown claimed by the Fighting Sioux last April in Providence.
