MADISON, Wis. - Minnesota Duluth (5-4-4, 2-4-3 WCHA) will play host to St. Cloud State (8-5-0, 3-4-0 WCHA) on Saturday (Nov. 29) night at 7:37 pm CT at the Duluth Entertainment & Convention Center in the lone Western Collegiate Hockey Association game being contested over the Thanksgiving weekend. In the first game of the series, played Nov. 1 at Xcel Energy Center as part of the inaugural WCHA Minnesota College Hockey Showcase, the host Bulldogs prevailed by a 5-1 count.

Seven other WCHA-member teams will engage in non-conference action again on Saturday, after the league went a collective 3-3-1 in those matchups Friday (Nov. 28) evening. Minnesota (7-2-4) and Wisconsin (6-7-2) will play host to CCHA-members Michigan State (4-9-2) and Michigan (9-6-0)at Mariucci Arena and the Kohl Center, respectively, in the continuation of the College Hockey Showcase, North Dakota (5-7-1) again entertains ECAC Hockey member Cornell (4-1-2) at Ralph Engelstad Arena, Denver (8-5-1) hosts Atlantic Hockey's Air Force Academy (13-0-0), Colorado College (8-4-3) welcomes Colgate (4-5-2) to Colorado Springs World Arena, Minnesota State (7-3-3) concludes its series at CCHA-member Bowling Green (5-7-3) and Michigan Tech (2-10-1) plays game two at Bemidji State (4-7-0) of College Hockey America.

As a result of the WCHA's 3-3-1 collective mark on Friday, the league now stands at 22-11-5 in non-conference play in 2008-09.

Looking ahead to the first weekend of December (Dec. 5-6), there will be four WCHA series contested as Denver heads to Michigan Tech, Wisconsin hosts Alaska Anchorage, Minnesota State and St. Cloud State play a home-and-home set, and Colorado College hosts Minnesota Duluth. Outside the league, North Dakota plays at Harvard. Minnesota will be idle.

Friday, Nov. 28 Highlights:

MSU 2 @ Bowling Green 2 ot (nc): Goals by left wingers Mick Berge in the first period and Geoff Irwin in the second staked the visiting Mavericks to a 2-0 advantage before the Falcons rallied for two in the final 5:18 of the second to gain an overtime tie. MSU was outshot, 40-23, but received 38 saves from Mike Zacharias in goal.

Michigan State 1 @ UW 3 (nc): The line of left winger John Mitchell (1g,1a), center Matt Thurber (1g,1a) and right winger Ben Grotting (1g,2a) combined for all three goals as the host Badgers outshot the Spartans, 53-12, and won 3-1 before 12,695 at the Kohl Center. For MSU, Jeff Lerg had 50 saves while Shane Connelly stopped 11 for the UW.

Michigan 6 @ UM 3 (nc): The visiting Wolverines scored the first four goals of the game over the first 24:01, with left winger Carl Hagelin netting the winner, in a victory over the host Golden Gophers before a sellout crowd of 10,217 at Mariucci Arena. For Minnesota, the line of Ryan Stoa, Jordan Schroeder and Justin Bostrom accounted for all three goals. Michigan outshot the Gophers, 42-25.

Michigan Tech 0 @ Bemidji State 3 (nc): The host Beavers tallied once in each period, with right winger Matt Francis' game-opening goal at 6:18 of the first serving as the winner in a 3-0 victory over the visiting Huskies before 1,838 at John Glas Fieldhouse. MTU went 0-of-8 on the power-play and outshot BSU, 23-19.

Cornell 3 @ UND 7 (nc): The host Fighting Sioux received a hat trick and one assist from right winger Matt Frattin and the game-winning goal and four assists from defenseman Chay Genoway enroute to a 7-3 victory over Cornell before 11,363 at Ralph Engelstad Arena. UND hit on 3-of-7 power-plays and also had 1-2-3 from center Evan Trupp and three asssists from left winger Jason Gregoire.

Colgate 1 @ DU 6 (nc): The host Pioneers scored four times in the opening 15:51, with center Tyler Ruegsegger netting the eventual game-winner on a power-play at 5:53 of the first in a 6-1 triumph over Cornell before 5,002 at Magness Arena. Ruegsegger had two scores for DU, while Joe Colborne (2a), Anthony Maiani (3a), Patrick Wiercioch (1g,1a), and Tyler Bozek (2a) also had multiple-point games. In goal, Marc Cheverie stopped 29 of 30 shots for the Pioneers.

CC 1 @ Air Force 4 (nc): The host Falcons remained perfect on the season at 13-0-0 by scoring the first four goals of the game, including left winger Josh Frider's game-winner just :36 seconds into the second period in a 4-1 win over the Tigers before a sellout crowd of 3,063 at Cadet Ice Arena. For CC, Bill Sweatt's goal at 11:48 of the third period avoided a shutout.
