MADISON, Wisc. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association continues its strong season-long presence in the Division 1 national college hockey rankings for the week of Dec. 4-10 with five member teams listed among the top 15. Leading the way is defending NCAA champion and league-leading North Dakota (12-2-4), ranked second in both the Dec. 4th USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Men's College Poll and the USCHO.com Div. 1 Men's Poll. The Sioux are unbeaten over their last 11 games (10-0-1).

The four other conference teams ranked among the top 15 teams in the nation are Colorado College (10-3-1), seventh in both polls, St. Cloud State (10-3-1), eighth in both polls, Minnesota (9-5-2), 10th in the USCHO.com listing and 11th in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll, and Wisconsin (10-8-0), 13th in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine poll and 14th in the USCHO.com list. In addition to UND's 11-game unbeaten streak, three other WCHA teams are on undefeated streaks of their own - CC (4-0-1), Denver (4-0-1) and SCSU (4-0-0). The Pioneers were also mentioned in this week's USCHO.com poll.

The WCHA is home to 31 national championship teams since the league's founding in 1951, including the 2000 NCAA Frozen Four crown claimed by North Dakota last April in Providence.
