MINNEAPOLIS -- The USCHO.com Men's Division I Players of the Week were announced today. Honored this week are Rene Bourque, a sophomore forward from the University of Wisconsin. He was awarded the USCHO.com Men's Division I Offensive Player of the Week. Ryan Miller, a junior goaltender from the Michigan State University was awarded the USCHO.com Men's Division I Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.

On Friday, Wisconsin trailed North Dakota 6-2 in the third period. At this point most teams sometimes mail it in and live to fight another day, but the Badgers had a Bourque skating for them. Rene Bourque, the USCHO Offensive Player of the Week, led Wisconsin's third period charge setting up two of the team's four goals in the period and in overtime found the back of the net on a point-blank shot to cap off an amazing comeback. For a command performance, the sophomore snapped a 1-1 tie at 13:43 of the third period to complete the sweep of the Fighting Sioux, 3-1. All told, Bourque had two game-winning goals and two assists to almost single-handedly deal North Dakota two losses. Not a bad show for anybody with the name of Bourque.
