COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. The University of Minnesota, for the 14th straight week, is at the top of the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey. The Golden Gophers gained 8-2 and 5-0 wins over Brown University in Minneapolis last Friday and Saturday.
The Ohio State University, fresh off a sweep of Yale University, made its first appearance on the 2004-05 USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll. The Buckeyes defeated the Bulldogs 5-4 on Friday and followed up with a 3-2 victory on Saturday and came in at No. 10.
Dartmouth College downed Clarkson University, 5-2, and No. 6 St. Lawrence, 5-1, and holds the No. 2 position in this week's poll.
Harvard University climbed to No. 5 this week following a 4-0 shutout of conference opponent Brown University.
The eighth annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
