COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Adding two more wins to its nearly undefeated season, the University of Minnesota remained No. 1 on the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll for the 15th consecutive week. The Golden Gophers topped No. 10 The Ohio State University, 4-1 and 4-2, in Columbus, Ohio, last weekend and now hold a 21-1-2 overall record.
Previous No. 6 St. Lawrence University took Harvard University's No. 5 spot this week after downing Union College, 8-2 and 7-0, in Schenectady, N.Y.
Dartmouth College beat Cornell University, 4-1, and Colgate University, 3-2, to remain No. 2 with six of the 19 first-place votes. Staying at Nos. 3 and 4 were the University of Minnesota Duluth, which swept Minnesota State University, and the University of Wisconsin, which won a series over the University of North Dakota.
The eighth annual USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
