COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Dartmouth College garnered 17 of 19 first-place votes en route to its second consecutive No. 1 ranking in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll. Dartmouth skated to two conference wins against Union College. The Big Green registered 18 goals on the weekend, blanking the Dutchwomen by scores of 7-0 and 11-0, Friday and Saturday, respectively.
Princeton University climbed two spots to No. 8 in this week's poll, after registering a 6-3 victory over No. 3 Harvard University. The Tigers' Elizabeth Keady notched two goals to help lead Princeton to Friday's victory. The Tigers hosted Brown University on Saturday and were defeated by the Bears, 3-1. Harvard was able to keep its No. 3 ranking with a 5-1 win on Saturday over Yale University.
The University of New Hampshire tumbled two spots in the poll to No. 10, after splitting the weekend series with conference-mate Providence College. The Wildcats were led by Carolyn Gordon, whose hat trick helped UNH to a 4-3 win, but when the 'Cats traveled to Schneider Arena, Providence took control, and defeated UNH, 5-2.
The seventh annual USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from women's college ice hockey coaches and journalists, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and American Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
