COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Dartmouth College enters its third consecutive week at No. 1 in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll. Dartmouth and No. 2 University of Minnesota split the weekend series in Minneapolis. The Big Green came out the big winners on Saturday, defeating the Golden Gophers, 3-2. However, Minnesota got its retribution on Sunday, with a 7-3 win. Dartmouth garnered 10 first-place votes while Minnesota earned eight first-place votes.

No. 3 Harvard blanked Boston College, 4-0, in last Tuesday's Beanpot, and faces off against Northeastern University in tonight's championship game at 8:00 p.m. EST. Northeastern also earned a shutout last week, defeating Boston University, 8-0. BU and BC will face each other tonight in the consolation game at 5:00 p.m. EST. Harvard also defeated two ECAC opponents, earning two conference points on Friday in a 4-3 win over Colgate University, and again earning two points on Saturday, with a 6-0 blanking of Cornell University.

Brown University joins the poll this week for the first time since Dec. 3, 2002. Brown faced off against Colgate and Cornell as well this weekend, and skated away with two victories. The Bears registered a 4-2 win against Cornell on Friday, and notched a 2-1 overtime win against Colgate on Saturday.

Minnesota State University-Mankato fell out of the top-10 this week after dropping two WCHA decisions to No. 4 University of Wisconsin. The Badgers shut out the Mavericks, 3-0, on Saturday, and followed up that win with a 4-1 victory on Saturday.

Next week's key matchups include a two-game series between Wisconsin and Minnesota in Minneapolis, while No. 5 St. Lawrence University travels to Dartmouth for a two-game ECAC showdown.

The seventh annual USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from women's college ice hockey coaches and journalists, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and American Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
