Gophers Retain No. 1 Ranking On USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Extending its win streak to 13 games, the University of Minnesota remained at No. 1 on this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll for the 18th straight week.
The University of Minnesota Duluth edged out Dartmouth College by a single point for the No. 2 spot following a split at St. Cloud State University.
St. Lawrence University made a move to No. 5 with a 3-0 blanking of No. 3 Dartmouth and a 4-1 win against the University of Vermont, while Harvard University slipped a spot to No. 6 despite a first-round Beanpot Tournament win over Northeastern University last Tuesday (Feb. 7) and a weekend sweep of Union College.
NOTES: Unbeaten in its last 10 games, No. 6 Harvard (29 points) has taken the Eastern College Athletic Conference Hockey League lead over No. 3 Dartmouth (28 points) and No. 5 St. Lawrence (27 points) ... No. 6 Harvard will play for its seventh straight Beanpot title tonight versus Boston College at Northeastern's Matthews Arena in Boston ... Minnesota's streak of 18 straight weeks at No. 1 is second only to Dartmouth's streak of 21 weeks in 2000-01 ... Four of the top-10 teams are members of the ECACHL, while Nos. 1, 2 and 4 hail from the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The poll includes input from coaches and journalists representing each of the six NCAA Division I ice hockey conferences, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and USA Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
