COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Minnesota picked up a pair of home wins versus Minnesota State University Mankato to extend its winning streak to 15 games and remain No. 1 on this week's USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll.

No. 1 Minnesota, which has only lost once this season, is unbeaten in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and clinched its second consecutive regular-season championship on Sunday (Feb. 20).

Harvard University, which is unbeaten in its last 13 games, claimed its seventh straight Beanpot title last Tuesday (Feb. 15) with a 6-1 win over Boston College. The Crimson also added a win at Clarkson University and a tie at No. 6 St. Lawrence University and moved up a spot to No. 5.

The University of Connecticut made its first-ever appearance in the poll at No. 10 after a tie and a win at home versus No. 8 University of New Hampshire.

NOTES: The nation's leading goal scorer and Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist, No. 5 Harvard's Nicole Corriero, was named the 2005 Beanpot MVP. Of the four Harvard players who have been awarded the Kazmaier, all four had been named the Beanpot MVP the same year ... No. 6 St. Lawrence suffered its first home loss of the season, to Brown University on Friday (Feb. 18) ... Minnesota's streak of 19 straight weeks at No. 1 is second only to Dartmouth College's streak of 21 weeks in 2000-01 ... Golden Gopher forwards Natalie Darwitz and Krissy Wendell, two of the 10 Kazmaier finalists, lead the nation in scoring with 92 (33 goals, 59 assists) and 86 (36 goals, 50 assists) points, respectively.
