Minneapolis, Minn. - Minnesota Duluth's Noemie Marin's goal at 4:33 of overtime gave the No. 2 seed Bulldogs a 3-2 win over No. 7 North Dakota in the opening quarterfinal game at the 2005 WCHA Women's Playoff Championship.

North Dakota got on the scoreboard first as Cami Wooster converted on assists from her sister Cara and Jessica Kovacevich at 7:06 of the first period. Minnesota Duluth answered at 15:42 as Alison Lehrke converted on the power play. Caroline Ouellette and goaltender Patricia Elsmore were credited with the assists. After a scoreless second period, the Bulldogs took their first lead of the game on Krista McArthur?s unassisted power play goal at the 6:00 mark. The Fighting Sioux?s Melissa Dianoski scored the tying goal at 14:51 of the period on assists from the Woosters, sending the game to the extra stanza.

Elsmore made 19 saves in the victory while North Dakota's Amber Hasbargen made 35 saves including 19 in the third period. The Bulldogs were 2-10 on the power play while North Dakota went 0-9.

Minnesota Duluth improves to 25-4-2 on the season while North Dakota finishes the season 9-23-5. The Bulldogs will face the winner of Friday's semifinal game between No. 3 Wisconsin and No. 6 St. Cloud State Saturday at 4 p.m.
