MADISON, Wis. - Two-time defending NCAA champion Minnesota-Duluth earned the No. 1 seed for the 2003 NCAA Women's Frozen Four, while Minnesota earned the No. 3 seed for the tournament, the NCAA announced on Sunday.

The Bulldogs, the WCHA regular-season and WCHA Women's Final Five champions, will face fourth-seed and ECAC postseason-champion Dartmouth in the 7 p.m. CT contest on Friday, March 21 at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC). UMD, the first host school to make it to the NCAA Women's Frozen Four, swept the Big Green, 5-3 and 6-3, on Jan. 10 and 11 at the DECC.

Third-seed Minnesota will face second-seed Harvard in the first semifinal on Friday at 4 p.m. CT. The Gophers were the only team to upend the Crimson before Dartmouth beat HU this past weekend to take the ECAC tournament crown. Minnesota claimed a 4-3 home victory over Harvard last Nov. 12.

The winners of the two contests play for the championship on Sunday, March 23 at 4 p.m. CT. A third-place game will take place at 12:30 p.m. CT.

The NCAA Women's Frozen Four is in its third season. Minnesota-Duluth won the inaugural 2001 title with a 4-2 win over St. Lawrence in Minneapolis, and won last season with a 3-2 victory over Brown in Durham, New Hampshire.
