MADISON, Wis. - The Western Collegiate Hockey Association will have two teams in the four-team field of the 2003 NCAA Women's Frozen Four this weekend in Duluth, Minn.

Third-seeded Minnesota opens the championship at 4 p.m. on Friday when it faces Harvard at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center (DECC). The Gophers edged the Crimson, 4-3, in the teams' only meeting of the season on Nov. 17.

Top-seed and two-time defending champion Minnesota-Duluth earned the first bid for a host school and will face fourth-seeded Dartmouth on Friday at 7 p.m. in the other semifinal. The Bulldogs swept the Big Green on Jan. 10-11 by 5-3 and 6-3 scores at the DECC.

The winners of the two contests face off on Sunday at 4 p.m. A third-place game will take place on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Minnesota-Duluth took the 2002 title in Durham, New Hampshire with a 3-2 victory over Brown in the championship game. Minnesota tied for third after skating to a 2-2 tie with Niagara in the third-place contest. The Bulldogs won the inaugural championship during 2001 in Minneapolis with a 4-2 win over St. Lawrence in the title game.
