COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The University of Minnesota remained No. 1 in the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll, garnering all 19 first-place votes for the second consecutive week. The Golden Gophers stayed atop the poll despite not having played this weekend. Minnesota will face off against No. 4 Dartmouth College in the NCAA Women's Frozen Four in Providence, R.I., on March 23 in the semifinal round.

Dartmouth slipped one place this week after falling, 4-2, to No. 3 St. Lawrence University in the ECAC conference semifinal round. Also in the semifinals, No. 2 Harvard defeated No. 9 Brown University, 2-1, in two overtime periods. St. Lawrence and Harvard faced off in the ECAC title game with Harvard earning a 6-1 victory over the Saints. The two teams will face off again next weekend in the semifinal round of the Frozen Four.

In Hockey East action, No. 10 Providence College blanked No. 8 University of New Hampshire, 3-0, in the Hockey East Championship game. Providence makes its first appearance in the poll since November 18, 2003.

The seventh annual USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from women's college ice hockey coaches and journalists, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and American Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
