Seven players competing for an NCAA Division I Women's Ice Hockey Championship in Minneapolis, MN, this weekend < including three from the #1 seeded University of New Hampshire < have been honored as RBK Hockey All-Americans for 2005-06.

In addition to UNH, NCAA semifinalists St. Lawrence and Wisconsin each had a pair of honorees, both Badgers being First Team selections. The only semifinalist shut out was Minnesota, the defending NCAA Champion.

Noteworthy among the selections:

  • Only three honorees came from the United States. Eight came from Canada and one from Switzerland.
  • All 12 honorees are first time selections.
  • There were six juniors chosen, four sophomores, and only two seniors.
  • Five selections came from Hockey East, four from the WCHA, and three from the ECACHL.

    The RBK All-American Ice Hockey Teams are sponsored by RBK HOCKEY, an international leader in hockey equipment, and chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association.

    Forward: Sadie Wright-Ward, SO, New Hampshire (Durham, NH)

    Women's All-American Second Team
