DULUTH, Minn. - University of Minnesota Duluth's women's hockey team, the 2003 NCAA National Champions, will be recognized by the Minnesota Twins baseball team on Thursday (April 17) at the Metrodome in Minneapolis, MN.

The team will be introduced on the field during the pre-game ceremonies starting at 6:30 p.m. After the introduction UMD assistant coach Shawna Davidson and sophomore forward Meghan Stotts will throw out the first pitch of the game, where the Twins meet Detroit Tigers. The game starts at 7:05 p.m. CT.

This season, the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs (31-3-2) captured their third consecutive NCAA Championship on their home ice, in front of record crowd of 5167, winning the final game 4-3 over Harvard University in the second overtime on March 23, 2003.

The Bulldogs also captured the WCHA Regular Season (21-2-1) and Playoff titles, making the 2002-2003 season a perfect year. UMD's 31 wins is the most wins the team has captured in one season since it started in 1999.
