Mankato, Minn. - Minnesota State head coach Jeff Vizenor has announced that Mandy Krause-Rideout has been hired as an assistant coach for the Maverick women's hockey program. In addition to on-ice instruction, Krause-Rideout will serve as the team's recruiting coordinator and direct academic and community outreach efforts.

"We are extremely excited to have Mandy join the staff here at Minnesota State and we feel it will be a great asset to our whole program to have a former Maverick rejoining our hockey family," said Vizenor. "Her varied experiences as a coach will help create an excellent network for recruiting."

"I could not be more excited to return to Minnesota State," said Krause. "I will be great to give back to program that has meant so much to me."

No stranger to the Minnesota State program, Krause-Rideout saw action in 94 career games as a player from 1998 to 2002. The Breckenridge, Minn., native followed her playing career by serving as head coach of the girl's hockey program at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H., from 2002 to 2004 and then served as an assistant coach of the Midget AAA squad at Athol Murray Notre Dame in Wilcox, Sask., the following season. She returned to the head coaching ranks this past season, leading the girl's hockey team at Fergus Falls High School and assisting with the softball program.

A graduate of MSU with a degree in physical education, Krause-Rideout was a four-time Academic All-WCHA selection as a player. She is currently working towards a master's degree in clinical exercise physiology.
