MADISON, Wis. - Four players currently or formerly associated with the WCHA have been invited to the 45-person 2001 USA Hockey Women's National Team Festival. The event will be held Aug. 13-22 in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Three players who played during the 2000-01 season will sell their game including Wisconsin sophmore-to-be defender Nicole Uliasz, and Minnesota forward Ambria Thomas and defeder Courtney Kennedy. Thomas and Kennedy each exhausted their eligibility this past year. The fourth player with league ties is Gopher Winny Brodt, who spent last season training with Team USA. Brodt and Kennedy are both former WCHA Defensive Players of the Year while Thomas is a two-time all-WCHA selection.

On August 23, the 25-player roster for the 2001-02 USA Hockey Women's National Team will be announced. From the 25 players, 20 will be chosen as the 2002 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team.
