MADISON, Wisc. The Western Collegiate Hockey Association and the league's Executive Committee today announced a one-game suspension for University of Minnesota-Duluth head coach Shannon Miller. The suspension is a result of unsportsmanlike conduct during the 2003 WCHA Women's Final Five.

The one-game suspension will be enforced during the October 10, 2003 game between Minnesota-Duluth and Minnesota State. Per the WCHA handbook (page 25, 11. b. viii), a suspension of a coach is defined as follows:

"A coach may not have contact or communication with the institution's team and institution's personnel and coaches two hours before and two hours after competition and cannot be present in the involved playing venue for the designated number of contests, but may conduct practice sessions."

The WCHA Executive Committee consists of Ken Anglin, Faculty Representative, Minnesota State University; Archie Griffin, Associate Athletic Director, Ohio State University; Jason Lesteberg, Coach, St. Cloud State University; and Sara Martin, Associate Commissioner, WCHA (ex-officio).
