MADISON, Wis. - Three players with WCHA ties, Wisconsin defender Nicole Uliasz, Minnesota-Duluth forward Jenny Potter and Minnesota defender Courtney Kennedy were selected to the 2001-02 USA Hockey Women's National Team.

The players were chosen from 45 that participated in the 2001 USA Hockey Women's National Team Festival, held Aug. 13-22 in Lake Placid, N.Y. The team will be cut down to 20 for the XIX Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. The games will be held February 9-24.

Uliasz, a frosh for Badgers last year, and Kennedy, a senior for the Gophers during 2000-01, will make their first appearances with the national program. Potter, who missed last season with the Bulldogs because of the birth of her child, won gold with Team USA during the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan.

The team will play in a 39-game tour against national and international competition in preparation for the 2002 Olympics. The tour kicks off Oct. 5 at the Kohl Center in Madison.
