MADISON, Wis. - All seven league teams are in action this weekend as the regular season enters full swing after Minnesota State opened with a series against Mercyhurst last weekend. Ohio State travels to Bemidji State to begin play. Minnesota State will play its first league games of the year when it visits defending league champion Minnesota. Wisconsin also hits the road for its season-opening series with St. Cloud State. Finally, defending NCAA Champion Minnesota-Duluth plays host to Providence, during which it will raise its national championship banner to the rafters.

Four league teams were in action last weekend with the Beavers, Huskies and Buckeyes playing exhibition contests against universities from Canada. The Mavericks dropped a the nation's first two games of the year to the Mercyhurst Lakers.

Each of the four teams were without some of its top players as the WCHA All-Stars played a two-game series with the 2001 U.S. Women's National Team. The all-stars fell to Team USA, 3-0 at the Kohl Center in Madison and 6-1 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minn., in front of over 8,000 fans.
