COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The University of Minnesota-Duluth collected all 13 first-place votes to remain atop the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Womenıs College Hockey Poll poll for the fifth consecutive week. Dartmouth College remained in second, with Brown University climbing to No. 3. The University of Wisconsin gained two positions following a 6-0 win and a 3-3 tie on the road against Ohio State University. Providence College also jumped two places in the poll, following 4-2 and 8-3 victories over the University of Findlay. Northeastern University entered the USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll at No. 7 following a weekend sweep at No. 8 St. Lawrence University. The Huskies defeated the Saints, 3-2, in overtime on Friday night and topped them again, 3-1, on Saturday.
This week's schedule features No. 1 University of University of Minnesota-Duluth traveling to No. 4 University of Wisconsin for a pair of Western Collegiate Hockey Association games. In other action, the three Ivy League teams in the poll will see their first action of the season. No. 2 Dartmouth College will play a home-and-home series with the University of Vermont, while No. 3 Brown University and No. 10 Harvard University will each host Cornell University and Colgate University over the weekend.
The fifth annual USA Today/American Hockey Magazine Women's College Hockey Poll is conducted each week in conjunction with the American Hockey Coaches Association. The poll includes input from women's college ice hockey coaches and journalists, as well as composite votes from officers of the American Hockey Coaches Association and American Hockey Magazine, the official publication of USA Hockey.
