Mankato, Minn. -- Minnesota State women's hockey coach Eric Means has announced seven new Maverick Icers that will begin their Minnesota State campaign next season. Those who signed are defenseman Danielle Scholzen (Blaine, Minn.), forward Kari Lundberg (Woodbury, Minn.), forward Kelsie Scott (Souris, Man.), forward Nicole Germaine (Clarendon Hills, Ill.), forward Kathleen Rogan (Vancouver, BC), forward Tracy McCann (Lakewood, Ohio), and defenseman Elisabeth Hewett (Oak Bluff, Man).

Following are short bios of each player signed.

Danielle Scholzen, D, 5'8, Blaine, Minnesota

Was a member of Elite League championship team Minnesota Red...Participant in Minnesota Junior Festival...Two-time All-Conference...Voted Most Dedicated Player two years in a row...Captain for 2009-10 season...Voted Most Valuable Player of lacrosse team.

Kari Lundberg, F, 5'7, Woodbury, Minnesota

Member of Minnesota Thoroughbreds...Currently has 27 goals and 24 assists in 25 games...Assistant Captain 2009-10...Led Thoroughbreds in scoring last year...Member of 2008 Two Nations Female Hockey Champions...Honor Roll Student.

Kelsie Scott, F, 5'8, Souris, Manitoba

Member of Westman Wildcats...Member of 2009 Team Manitoba All-star Team...Assistant captain 2009-10 season...Member of 2009 Provincial and National Championship Team...Member of 2008 Provincial Champions Hamiota Huskies...Member of 2009 rugby provincial champions...Top scorer and set provincial record for shots...voted Rookie of the Year...Led Rivers, Man. spring soccer team in scoring in 2009.

Nicole Germaine, F, 5'6, Clarendon Hills, Illinois

Member of Shattuck-St. Marys U-19 Girls Team...Originally for Mississauga, Ont...Won Midwest Elite League scoring title with Team Illinois...Won Girls U-19 national championship in 2008-09...Currently second on team in scoring with 13 goals and 13 assists in 24 games played.

Kathleen Rogan, F, 5'5, Vancouver, British Columbia

Member Shattuck St. Mary's Girls Prep Team...2009-10 assistant captain...Won 2009 national championship with SSM...Currently tied for second in scoring with 10 goals and 16 assists in 26 games played...Originally from Vancouver, B.C.

Tracy McCann, F, 5'9, Lakewood, Ohio

Member of Ohio Flames...Currently has 31 goals and 35 assists in 42 games....Participant in USA Hockey Select 17 festival...Had 32 goals and 57 assists in 76 games during 2008-09 season...Finished ninth in league scoring in 2008-09...Ohio Flames advanced to national tournament in 2009.

Elisabeth Hewett, D, 5'9, Oak Bluff, Manitoba

In 2009-10 she was a member of Team Manitoba for Canada Provincial Championship...APHA Rangers Midget Female AA Captain...St. Mary's Academy High School hockey captain...In 2008-09 she was a member of Manitoba Provincial finalists (APHA Rangers)...WMHA (Winnipeg Minor Hockey Association) All Star Team...WWHSHL All- Star Team (Winnipeg Women's Highschool Hockey League)...WWHSHL Top Defence Nomination (winner)...St. Mary's Academy Hockey Captain...In 2007-08 she was a member of Manitoba Provincial Champions (APHA Rangers).
