INDIANAPOLIS-- The NCAA announced today that the 2002 NCAA Division I Women's Frozen Four will air live on CNN/Sports Illustrated (CNN/SI) and New England Sports Network (NESN).

The women's hockey semifinals will take place on Friday, March 22, at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The national championship game will take place on Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. CNN/SI and NESN will air all three games live.

The 2002 NCAA Women's Frozen Four will be held in Durham, New Hampshire, on the campus of the University of New Hampshire.

CNN/SI reaches over 20 million households while NESN delivers 3.6 million households. NCAA Productions will produce the broadcast for CNN/SI and NESN. NESN will be granted exclusive coverage in the six-state New England region (Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) while CNN/SI will have exclusive broadcast rights to remainder of the country.

The inaugural Women's Frozen Four games received tape-delay television coverage last year on NESN. University of Minnesota, Duluth, won the first ever NCAA Women's Hockey Championship by defeating St. Lawrence University 4-2.
