WCHA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Maria Rooth - Minn.-Duluth

vs. St. Cloud State (11/30-12/1)

Rooth recorded six points over the weekend to lead Minnesota-Duluth to a pair of wins over St. Cloud State.

Rooth had two goals and two assists as UMD beat SCSU, 8-0, on the road. Rooth opened the contest with the game-winning goal at 7:32 of the first period. She assisted on Duluth's third and fourth goals, before scoring the team's seventh of the game.

The junior added two more goals on Saturday, scoring once unassisted in third period to give UMD a 3-0 lead and igniting a UMD scoring flurry. She scored the team's sixth goal, as well.

Rooth took 12 shots and was a plus-5 in the two games. She now has 11 goals and 17 points in 10 games played.

WCHA ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Kelly Stephens - Minnesota
Frosh * Forward
Shoreline, Wash.
vs. Wisconsin (11/30-12/1)

Stephens led Minnesota to a road sweep at Wisconsin with five points on a goal and four assists.

Stephens collected a goal and two assists in the Gophers 4-1 win. Stephens had the primary assist on the game-tying goal, set up a power-play goal and sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

The forward then set up Minnesota's second and third goals in its 4-3 overtime victory on Saturday.

Stephens recorded seven shots and has a plus-3 rating on the weekend. She shares second on the overall league scoring chart with 18 points.
