Madison, Wis. - The St. Cloud State Huskies visited Columbus, Ohio for the lone conference series of the weekend and became the first WCHA team of the season to sweep Ohio State. SCSU won a 4-3 overtime contest in the first game before earning a 4-1 victory for the four-point weekend. The wins moved the Huskies one point back of the fourth-place Buckeyes. The Huskies have two-games at hand on OSU.
The rest of the conference took on non-conference opponents, including three teams facing-off against ECAC competition. In the marquee series pitting the two conference leaders, Minnesota fell twice to Dartmouth in New Hampshire.
Minnesota-Duluth played at home and handled the other ECAC from the State of New Hampshire. The Bulldogs shut out the University of New Hampshire, 3-0, in the opener and earned the sweep with an 8-1 win in the second game.
Wisconsin was the third team to take on the ECAC, knocking off Boston College, 8-1 and 5-3, in Middleton, Wis.
MSU, Mankato played Mercyhurst falling twice to the Lakers, 4-0 and 4-1.
UMD is the only team in action this week when Harvard visits on Saturday and Sunday.
