Twenty WCHA Alums Named To United States And Canadian Rosters For Second Half Of Women's Rivalry Series
List includes 13 Americans and seven Canadians

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Jan. 17, 2020 – Twenty former Western Collegiate Hockey Association stars are among the 46 combined players named to the USA Hockey and Hockey Canada national team rosters for the final three contests of the 2019-20 Rivalry Series. Thirteen former WCHA players are on the 23-woman U.S. roster while seven former league players dot Canada's 23-player list.

The U.S. won the opening two games of the five-game Rivalry Series, 4-1, in Hartford, Conn., on Dec. 14 and 2-1 in Moncton, N.B., on Dec. 17. The final three games of the five-game set will be played Feb. 3, 2020 in at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, B.C., Feb. 5, 2020 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C.; and Feb. 8, 2020 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif. All three games will air on the NHL Network.

The American group includes 13 former WCHA players – Megan Bozek (Minnesota), Hannah Brandt (Minnesota), Dani Cameranesi (Minnesota), Alex Cavallini (Wisconsin), Brianna Decker (Wisconsin), Amanda Kessel (Minnesota), Hilary Knight (Wisconsin), Jocelyne Lamoureux-Davidson (North Dakota), Monique Lamoureux-Mordano (North Dakota), Annie Pankowski (Wisconsin), Kelly Pannek (Minnesota), Sophia Shaver (Wisconsin) and Lee Stecklein (Minnesota).

Canada's roster includes seven league alumnae – Emily Clark (Wisconsin), Ann-Renée Desbiens (Wisconsin), Jocelyne Larocque (Minnesota Duluth), Meaghan Mikkelson (Wisconsin), Sarah Nurse (Wisconsin), Natalie Spooner (Ohio State) and Blayre Turnbull (Wisconsin).

The United States coaching and support staff will also have a decided WCHA flavor as Minnesota associate head coach Joel Johnson will serve as an assistant coach while Minnesota Equipment Manager Brent Proulx (Equipment Manager) and Minnesota Strength and Conditioning Coach Cal Dietz (Strength and Conditioning Head Coach) will be members of the support staff. Additionally, former WCHA Women's League Commissioner Katie Million serves as USA Hockey's Director of Women's National Team Programs.
