WCHA Offensive Player of the Week
Taylor Kuehl - Sophomore, Forward
Ohio State University

photo Ohio State University forward Taylor Kuehl, who scored four goals and had five scoring points, fired nine shots on goal and earned a +4 plus/minus rating in a two-game conference sweep of visiting Bemidji State last weekend, has been named the WCHA Women's Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 31.

A sophomore from Minnetrista, Minn., Kuehl set the tone for the Buckeyes offensively in the series sweep of BSU, centering a line that produced 10 points (4g, 6a) and included Ally Tarr at left wing and Danielle Gagne at right wing. In the series opener at the OSU Ice Rink last Friday (Oct. 26), Kuehl scored at the 1:20 mark of the second period to put Ohio State up 1-0 over the Beavers in a 4-1 victory. Kuehl then recorded her first collegiate three-goal hat trick last Saturday (Oct. 27) in a 10-1 defeat of BSU. She scored goals at 1:49 and 10:59 of period two and her third came at the 5:03 mark of the third. Kuehl also tallied an assist to finish with four points, a career high.

Kuehl, who has six goals in the last four games, now has 10 points in 10 games played this season on eight goals and two assists.

Also nominated: Amanda Kessel, F, UM; Brianna Decker, F, UW.

WCHA Rookie of the Week
Milica McMillen - Freshman, Defenseman
University of Minnesota

photo Defenseman Milica McMillen, who had two goals and three points to help top-ranked University of Minnesota to a two-game conference road sweep at North Dakota last weekend, is the WCHA Women's Rookie of the Week for Oct. 31.

A freshman from St. Paul, Minn., McMillen contributed at both ends of the ice as the defending national champion Gophers improved to 10-0-0 on the season by limiting UND to 40 shots on goal and holding them to just one power-play goal in seven chances. Her first goal was a blast in the third period from the blue line in last Saturday's (Oct. 27) 5-1 win over UND. She also assisted Megan Bozek on her game-tying goal in the second period. McMillen added her second goal of the series in the third period of Sunday's 4-2 triumph by converting a Hannah Brandt rebound and poking it under the UND goaltender.

Seeing action in all 10 of UM's games to date, McMillen is tied for second in scoring overall among WCHA defensemen with 11 points (5g, 6a).

Also nominated: Meghan Dufault, F, UND; Courtney Burke, D, UW.
