EDINA, Minn. – Oct. 6, 2015 – For producing clutch offensive performances in four nonconference road or neutral site sweeps, the women's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Players of the Week for the week of Sept. 28 – Oct. 4, 2015 are: Wisconsin sophomore forward Annie Pankowski (Offensive Player of the Week), North Dakota senior defenseman Sam LaShomb (Co-Defensive Player of the Week), St. Cloud State senior defenseman Lexi Slattery (Co-Defensive Player of the Week) and Ohio State freshman forward Maddy Field (Rookie of the Week).
Annie Pankowski, So., F
Wisconsin (Laguna Hills, Calif.)
Pankowski, the 2014-15 National Rookie of the Year, started her sophomore season with a bang, scoring four goals and adding an assist to lead No. 3 Wisconsin to a season-opening sweep over Providence. Playing in her home state as the Badgers and Friars met at Sharks Ice in San Jose, Calif., the Laguna Hills native produced her third career hat trick, while adding an assist in UW's 8-1 win Saturday. Two of her three goals were short-handed efforts, making her the third player in program history to tally multiple short-handed strikes in a single game. Pankowski also lit the lamp during Friday's 5-1 Badgers victory and has now scored 16 goals in her last 17 games.

Sam LaShomb, Sr., D
North Dakota (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.)
LaShomb recorded a three-point weekend, including a multi-point effort in a dramatic road win Friday, as No. 6 North Dakota swept a season-opening road series at Rensselaer. The senior from Inver Grove Heights, Minn. sparked UND's rally from a 2-0 deficit Friday night by scoring the team's first goal, then assisted on the game-winning strike with 1:59 remaining in the third period of a 4-3 victory. LaShomb added a power-play goal Saturday to ice UND's 3-1 win, while she finished with a +3 rating for the weekend.
Lexi Slattery, Sr., D
St. Cloud State (Hugo, Minn.)
Slattery contributed on both ends of the ice all weekend, compiling five points (3g, 2a) with a +3 rating as St. Cloud State rolled to a season-opening road sweep at Merrimack. The senior from Hugo, Minn. jump-started the Huskies' comeback from a 4-2, third period hole on Friday by scoring at the 12:58 mark and then assisting on the game-tying goal just 1:19 later. After finishing Friday's 6-4 victory with four points (2g, 2a), Slattery added an assist on the power play in Saturday's 6-2 win for SCSU.

Maddy Field, Fr., F
Ohio State (Oakville, Ont.)
Field made an immediate impact in her collegiate debut, collecting two goals and an assist in Ohio State's season-opening road sweep at Lindenwood. The freshman from Oakville, Ontario assisted on the game-winning goal Friday night, before adding the Buckeyes' final score to seal a 5-1 victory – the first for new OSU head coach Jenny Potter. Field opened the scoring Saturday with a first period goal, setting the stage for Ohio State's 3-2 win.
