WCHA Offensive Player of the Week
Carolyne Prévost - Jr., F
University of Wisconsin

photoJunior forward Carolyne Prévost of the University of Wisconsin is this week's WCHA Offensive Player of the Week after she had a four-goal series – including two game-winners, a shorthanded goal, a power-play goal and a first goal – as the host Badgers swept Bemidji State in their league-opening series last weekend.

A junior from Sarnia, Ont., Prévost led Wisconsin with a three-goal hat trick, including the game-winning goal, in a 7-1 victory over BSU on Friday, Oct. 8. Her first tally of the contest, a shorthanded goal at 9:18 of the second period, also proved to be the game-winner. It was her second career hat trick as a Badger.

On Sunday (Oct. 10), Prévost capped her four-goal weekend with her second straight game-winning tally in Wisconsin's 2-0 WCHA victory over the visiting Beavers. Prévost also had a +4 plus/minus rating in the two games while her team-high 11 shots on goal produced a .364 shot percentage.

Prévost is currently third on the team in scoring with a team-best six goals for six points. Her 19 shots are tied for the team lead and she has a +8 plus/minus rating on the season. Prévost leads the nation with three game-winning goals in four games and is tied for second in the country with 1.50 goals per game and one shorthanded goal.

Also nominated this week were: Haley Irwin, F, UMD; Moira O'Connor, F, MSU; Jocelyne Lamoureux, F, UND; and Natalie Spooner, F, OSU.

WCHA Defensive Player of the Week
Stephanie Ney - Jr., G

As a result, she is the WCHA Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 13.

A junior from 100 Mile House, B.C., Ney stopped 30 of 32 shots on goal in North Dakota's victory over the Bulldogs while allowing just two goals, one of which came on the power-play. Ney was pivotal as the Sioux won despite being outshot, 32-19. In addition, she also picked up an assist on teammate Monique Lamoureux-Kolls' power-play goal at 8:49 of the third period.

Also nominated this week were: Jocelyne Larocque, D, UMD; Kelly Wild, D, OSU; and Becca Ruegsegger, G, UW.
