Jessica Wong had a goal and an assist for the Bulldogs

St. Cloud, Minn.- The No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs finished off a season sweep of the Huskies, winning a hard fought 2-1 game Saturday afternoon at the National Hockey Center.

UMD went ahead on a shorthanded goal by Jessica Wong at 19:19 of the first period. The Bulldogs extended their lead at 14:01 of the second on a score from Vannessa Thibault. Thibault was assisted on her goal by Jamie Kenyon and Wong.

St. Cloud State closed the gap with just 46 seconds remaining in the second period when junior forward Alex Nelson found the back of the net for her fifth of the season. Freshman Audrey Hanmer and sophomore Molli Mott each had assists on the goal. It was the fourth assist of the season for both Hanmer and Mott.

Freshman goaltender Julie Friend ended up with 43 saves on the night as the Huskies were out shot 45-22 in the game. UMD goaltender Lana Steck made 21 saves for the Bulldogs.

SCSU (5-21-2, 4-18 WCHA) will be at home once again next weekend as they will play host to the University of Minnesota.
