For a second-straight game juniors Ashleigh Brykaliuk and Lara Stalder had multiple point skates, and for a second-straight day, the University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey came away with an impressive win.

The Bulldogs knocked off Lindenwood University 4-1 Sunday at Lindenwood Ice Arena Saturday afternoon, earning UMD -- and first-year coach Maura Crowell -- the first series sweep of season. WIth the sweep, the Bulldogs jump out to 2-0 overall, with one more non-conference series next weekend against Boston College on the horizon.

The scoresheet was relatively quiet until UMD junior center Lara Stalder buried an Ashleigh Brykaliuk feed a mere 1:47 into the second period. LU responded with a power play goal 2:07 later, but Michela Cava handed the Bulldogs the 2-1 lead at the 9:15 mark, a lead UMD would never relquinsh.

Stalder doubled her scoring output with another helper credited to Brykaliuk 6:11 into the third stanza, and Brykaliuk netted a goal of her own at 13:27 to put the 4-1 game out of reach for the Lions.

Senior Kayla Black made 23 stops on the day, while LU's neminder Jolene deBruyn turned away 43 Bulldog scoring attempts. Overall, UMD outshot the Lions 47-24 and went 1-of-5 on the power play.

UMD heads to Chestnut Hill, Mass. this Friday to play No. 2 Boston College. Game time for Friday's contest is set for 6:00 p.m. CDT.
